Art Adventures—Theater


Having so much fun exploring all the different art options in West Seattle! This week is all about theater—from live performances to movies plus classes and camps.

  • Admiral Theater (Theater—Movies)
    2343 California Ave SW

    Historic theater showing new releases, classics and special events. Has hosted Mommy and Me Matinees in past on Fridays but don't see anything currently on the schedule.
  • ArtsWest (Theater—Live performances)
    A new play This Girl Laughs, This Girl Cries and This Girl Does Nothing is a modern-day fairytale adventure that starts March 17-April 10th and is appropriate for ages 7 and up. Available to see in-person and online. 
  • Kenyon Hall (Music/Theater/Classes)
    7904 35th Avenue SW
    Home of the 1929 mighty Wurlitzer theatre pipe organ and entertainment palace offering live music, theater and education.
  • Shakespeare in the Park (Theater—Live performances)
    Green Stage's annual summer event with both full productions and shorter family-friendly ones with their Backyard Bard series. Locations are TBD but have been at Lincoln Park and High Point in past. Dates are July 8-August 13th.
  • TeenTix (Variety of art forms)
    This organization offers a chance for teens (13-19 years old) to experience the arts with $5 day-of-show tickets to several venues, including ArtsWest Playhouse and Gallery here in West Seattle.
  • The World According to Snoopy—Seattle Lutheran High School (Theater—Live performances) Added 3/31/22
    4100 SW Genesee St / Menashe Gymnasium@Seattle Lutheran High School 
    Spring musical production with three performances: Friday, 4/29 and Saturday 4/40 both at 7:30pm, Sunday 5/1 at 2:30. Tickets: $10 for adults, $7 for seniors and non-SLHS students

  • West Seattle Outdoor Movies (Theater—Movies)
    WS Junction's event is back! Mark your calendars for five Saturdays this summer—July 23 and 30, August 6, 13 and 20. 
  • Westside Drama—West Seattle High School (Theater—Live performances)
    Upcoming spring musical is a performance of The Lightening Thief: A Percy Jackson Musical. Dates: March 31st, April 1st and 2nd, April 6-8th. All at 7:30PM. See website for tickets, available both in-person + virtually.
  • Youngstown Cultural Arts Center (Variety of art forms)
    4408 Delridge Way SW
    Just wrapped up a production of A Year with Frog and Toad and looks like another performance is coming up in April and May—The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee. Best for ages 13 and up. Go here for more info.
